As part of the Year Of Creative Scotland 2012 the Northern Lights project asked members of the public to collaborate in the creation of a unique feature-length documentary film.
Drawn from crowd sourced footage filmed by hundreds of participants the result was a feature length film presenting a unique vision of Scotland in 2012.
Launched, promoted and participated with almost entirely online using a custom suite of software and work processes Northern Lights was an early but lasting showcase of the potential of crowd-sourced media.
